Shoshone Moccasins

This is a cradle board for infants and was for protection of the small child. It would be placed on the back like a backpack. This cradle is made out of buckskin. There is some quill work associated with it and the quills are from porcupines. The art of this quill work has been gone for quite some time. It used to be only certain people were authorized to do this type of artwork but the skill has been lost.
